Hello! This is Pastor Steve Robinson of Church of the King on the Northshore.
I'd like to take a minute and share with you a little bit about my life story. I was raised in Metairie and came to Christ at the age of 18 while a freshman at Tulane University. After graduating from Tulane, I attended Bible School at Christ For the Nations in Dallas, TX. Upon graduating and returning to the New Orleans area to attend the Baptist Theological Seminary, God blessed me with a wonderful wife, Jennifer. We now have three children, Isabelle, William, and Conrad.
In 1993, I began a teen ministry named Next Generation, while working out of a local church in Metairie. For the next seven years I had the opportunity to speak in high schools and junior high schools in the greater New Orleans area, and traveled throughout the United States speaking to the youth of America.
In 1999, God began to stir my heart and gave me a dream of birthing and starting a strong, life-giving, local church, but I wasn’t sure of WHERE! Through much prayer and consultation, the Lord spoke to me clearly that I was to go to the Northshore to start a church.
Church of the King was birthed in September, 1999, with nineteen people. Today, we are ministering to over 4,000 people in our weekend services.
I want to personally invite you and your family to join us this weekend for one of our worship services. I look forward to seeing you there.
