What is a Victory Weekend?
We believe that the first step in becoming a disciple is to be “free indeed.” Jesus said: “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will SET YOU FREE” (John 8:31-32 NIV). Victory Weekend is a short course in freedom - freedom from habits, bondages, bitterness, wrong thoughts, and past mistakes. These powerful life changes take place when we have a true understanding of what Christ did for us at the Cross. At the Victory Weekend, the Lord will set you free through the power of the Cross.
Who will be there?
Each Victory Weekend is led by the Pastoral Staff of Church of the King. Men over 18 attend the Men's Victory Weekend and women over 18 attend the Women’s Victory Weekend.
Generally, Victory Weekend attendance is between 50 and 100 people. After each main session the large group breaks down into small groups of 4-8 people.
Where is the Victory Weekend held?
Church of the King uses a number of excellent camp, hotel and retreat facilities for Victory Weekends. These clean, well-staffed facilities are within 30-90 minutes of Mandeville and consistently serve good food!
What is the cost of a Victory Weekend?
Costs for Victory Weekend are based on which facility is used. Typically the cost is around $100, which includes one night of lodging and four meals.
What is the schedule of the Retreat?
There will be teaching and small group sessions Friday Evening, and all day Saturday until around 8pm. The first session starts promptly at 7PM on Friday. We ask all attendees to arrive from 4:00p.m. - 6:00p.m. via your own transportation on Friday Evening for registration and room assignments. Your attendance is required for the duration of the entire weekend.
