I AM A NEW CREATION

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!

2 CORINTHIANS 5:17

1. God is the creator and ruler over all.

ROMANS 1:20-21

For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse. For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

2. No one is righteous.

ROMANS 3:10

“… as it is written, “There is none righteous, not even one.’”

3. We have all sinned and fall short of His standard of perfect, holy righteousness.

ROMANS 3:23

“ … for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God ….”

4. The penalty for sinfulness has already been set. But God has provided a gift through grace of life eternal.

ROMANS 6:23

“For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

5. God’s love is so great for us that He gave His only son as a sacrifice for the sins of all humanity.

ROMANS 5:8

“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

6. Confessing Jesus Christ as Lord and believing (placing your faith/trust in) in Him for the forgiveness of your sins provides you with salvation.

ROMANS 10:9-10

“ … that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.”

7. There is only ONE way to receive salvation: Faith alone in Jesus Christ alone.

ROMANS 10:13

“ … for “Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

Prayer of Salvation

Dear Jesus, I come to you today, a sinner, in need of a Savior. Thank you, Jesus, for dying on the cross for me, for shedding your blood for me. Jesus, I let go of my past, I turn to you, I turn to the cross. Come into my life. Forgive me. Wash me. Cleanse me with your blood. Jesus, I take my life, and I put it into your hands. From this day forward, I belong to you. Amen.

Prayer, like Bible reading, is another way we grow in our relationship with Christ. Prayer is simply having a conversation with God. Check out this guide for a model of how Jesus prayed.

3. Connect with other Christ-followers

Attend church regularly: God did not design us to grow alone but instead planned for us to be in community. You can find a spiritual community through attending church. Go to churchoftheking.com to find out service times.

Get into a small group: The Bible teaches that we should be a part of the church and also connect in small group settings, which we call Small Groups. You can learn more about small groups by clicking the button below.

TELL OTHERS

Now is the best time to tell others what God is doing in your life. Invite them to join you at church.

How to create/tell your testimony

Testimony: It is important to be able to tell what happened to you. Use the following steps to help you articulate your story and share with others how God had changed you.

1. Write out your testimony. Use the following questions to help you get started.

What was my life like before I met Jesus? How did I meet Jesus? What difference has it made in my life since I met Jesus?

2. Boil your testimony down into three very simple statements. Write them out and memorize them.

3. Ask God to give you an opportunity to share with your testimony. Think about some of your family and friends that don’t know Christ and ask God to provide an opportunity.

We were given a great gift in our salvation and it is important to tell other people what has happened to us.
